Sleep is important as insufficient sleep, or abnormal sleep may increase the risk of heart disease, a new study warned.
The ones who work in night shifts should take care that they get a sufficient amount of sleep as it may increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Not just the ones working in night shifts but also the ones who are chronically sleep-deprived people. Insufficient sleep and circadian rhythm disturbances both have been associated with cardiovascular disease.
All humans and mammals have a sleep-wake cycle, and when this cycle breaks its rhythm, it leads to a chain of problems one after another.
People who sleep also tend to go through depression or anxiety due to less sleep. Insomnia has the strongest link to depression.
Insomnia is often one of the first symptoms of depression. Insomnia and depression feed on each other.

Sleep plays a critical role in thinking and learning. Lack of sleep hurts this process and dumps a person down in his/her life.
First, it impairs a lack of attention, concentration, alertness, reasoning, and problem-solving. This makes it more difficult to learn efficiently.
Second, during the night sleep cycle play a crucial role in consolidating memories in mind. If you don’t get enough sleep you won’t be able to remember what you learned and experienced during the day.
As told above it leads to serious health issues too, like heart disease, heart attack, heart failures, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, strokes, and diabetes.
The people who have insomnia – a sleep disorder characterized by the trouble of falling asleep or staying asleep, also have one of these diseases.
Lack of sleep also ages the skin. The ones who sleep less have puffy eyes the next day. Dark circles, wrinkles, all these are because of less sleep.

Lack of sleep seems to be related to hunger, obesity too.
To determine this researchers examined 26 healthy people, aged 20-39. The participants were restricted to only five hours of sleep for eight days with either fixed bedtimes or bedtimes delayed for 8 hours or something on four of the eight days.
Researchers found sleep restriction combined with delayed bedtimes when compared to sleep restriction without delayed bedtimes was associated with an increased heart rate during the day for both fixed bedtimes and delayed bedtimes groups. Participants also experienced reduces heart rate variability at night.

Due to these heart diseases, it also may increase the risk of death.
The immune system, respiratory system, digestive system, etc each may have some problem because of less sleep. Sleep is important to keep them working in a healthy manner and to reduce the risk of heart diseases.
There are a lot of major issues and problems due to less sleep. So every person should have a proper sleep-wake cycle to make their bodies fit and live in a healthy way.
Sleep is important for every human and mammal present. So, sleep tight and take care.!
